There are numerous ways to talk about the Great Emergence.  One significant conversation took place on December 5 and 6, 2008, at St. Mary's Cathedral in downtown Memphis.  The Great Emergence event  was two days of  worship, workshops, and discussions around the great emergence taking place in the Christian church. Two notable voices, both at the conference and in the movement itself, are Phyllis Tickle and Tony Jones. Their perspectives can help us understand this phenomenon that we are living through and what it means for the future of the Christian Church.
